What was the general theme or argument of the book? The General theme of this book was persistence and risk taking. Throughout the biography, Ashlee Vance provided a litany of occurrences of Elon musk and his brave business ventures. From the selling of paypal to the creation of Space X, Elon musk had a vision and definitely capitalized on the opportunities presented to him. How did the book, in your opinion, connect with and enhance what you are learning in ENT 3003? This book definitely enhanced the aspect of taking risks. I feel that reading this book put an emphasis on the concept of taking advantage of needs and opportunities presented. What I have gathered from this course up to this point is that information on your product, delivery and patience are crucial to success. In the book the author illustrates calculated risks and converting dreams into reality. If you had to design an exercise for this class, based on the book you read, what would that exercise involve?...

For my particular business I plan on sticking with it for several years. I feel that whether I decide to sell my company would depend on the expansion of my tutoring business. Success would be a really big factor. Best case scenario I would like to pass this down to my kids.   I feel that I would do this because of the amount of confidence that I have in my product. The overall goal of my idea is to help young students achieve their academic goals. Hopefully this form of assistance is needed for a long time. What can ultimately affect this would be the change in the academic system. This has definitely influenced my growth intentions. I feel there is a need and predict it to be a reoccurring need in the United states. Although it will begin in Florida, the goal would be to expand.

In this semester I have experienced quite a bit of failure. A notable failure that I can recall occurred in the beginning of the course. On the first elevator pitch, to my personal opinion, I feel like I submitted the worst elevator pitch on YouTube. After submitting that link to Dr. Pryor, I felt not only embarrassed, but deeply upset at my failure to produce a good video. What I submitted was poorly explained, thought out, and executed. The level of awkwardness that I displayed in that video was alarming and truly a massive failure. As the assignments rolled along, I feel that the quality in the rest of the pitches got increasingly better. With more time, experience, and knowledge on my business, I was able to put forward a respectable submission in my opinion.      Emotionally I feel that I handle failure pretty poorly. I generally try to improve, but ultimately end up giving up when things get too hard. Failure for me is emotionally taxing. I...

Existing Market For my current business idea, I feel that doing more research and looking into current tutoring businesses. I feel that reaching out and seeking help would be very important for me and my company, while also taking time to analyze high schoolers and their behavior to figure out what works best. For this assignment I decided to interview my sister and my other close friend who are both in high school. They both struggle massively with the SAT and said they feel that they don’t have time to study because of their coursework. Both are part of AP and dual enrollment course and are working into attending the University of Florida one day. They are both really worried and don’t feel its natural or healthy to feel the amount of stress that they feel. They have tried personal tutors but feel that they don’t even have time for that. They wish a service like mine existed due to how difficult it is to manage time. The third person I interviewed was my mom. She said that sh...

The product/service that I am offering is an opportunity for high school to obtain the necessary help on the SAT, while also managing their high school coursework. My service will be targeted more towards students who need more attention and require help with various subject including SAT prep. Each student will have their own tutor with teaching skills that would benefit them the most. When I was in high school, I struggled massively with both these challenges, including college essays and applications. Today, after putting in the work and getting into my dream school, I notice my sister trying to follow my path, but also struggling tremendously. My product uses students like my sister as a target and tries to aid people like my parents, hardworking individuals that struggle to pay for college and need financial assistance. In July 2020, a new law will be passed in Florida, in which high school students will need to achieve a score of 1350 to obtain the full tuition scholarship. Thi...

1.       The product revolves around time manageability. V: This is valuable because it revolves around the customers availability. N: Although there could be solutions to most students academic difficulties another company can make It easier on the student. 2.        The product is affordable V: This is valuable because of the many students and parents have trouble affording tutoring and a good college for their child. R: This is reliable because it puts the customer first. I: Many people could overlook my business because of the price and could try to invest in something more expensive, just because of the price. N: Another company provides a cheaper service. 3.       \Students today struggle with improving their SAT score V: ...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkPz5dAY8Q0 Feedback : The feedback that I received on my service was really good. Most of the comments were overwhelmingly kind and wished that a product like this would have existed when they were in high school. What I decided to change based on the feedback was how awkward I felt and tried to be more comfortable in front of the camera. I also tried to incorporate more facts and statistics to illustrate my overall point.

1)     You: My name is Mauro Petrides and I am currently a college student at the University if Florida. I would say my talents related to my business endeavors are memorization and commitment. My aspirations revolve on overall success for this potential business. What dictates success for me would be solving this particular issue of unhealthy food establishments in Gainesville. 2)  What are you offering to customers?  My product/service is food that can be less fattening but filling to my customers. This would include delicious food at an affordable price with decent nutritional value.  3)  Who are you offering it to?  I plan on tackling the area around campus initially. I fell that the market around Gainesville in currently saturated with options that aren’t particularly healthy for you. When I would want to get food somewhere nearby, I would have to settle for McDonalds and Steak and Shake, and those places aren’t really food establishmen...
